Does low-fat cottage cheese taste just as good as regular?
I just noticed that my container of cottage cheese says 4% milk fat! Wow, I need to buy low fat, but wonder about the taste. And could I use low fat kind in lasagna?

Add spaghetti sauce. 1st layer spaghetti/meat sauce. 2nd layer lasagna noodles, uncooked. 3rd layer cheeses. Repeat. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan. Cover tightly with heavy duty foil. Sit on cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Let stand uncovered 10 minutes and serve.
- I use low-fat cottage cheese. By itself, there is a slightly different taste. Not quite as good. If it's put into lasagna, you won't know the difference. Go for it.
- Yes it tastes almost exact and it is great in lasagna! I've sold many lasagna and I have used it many times!
- i like it better actually. and yes, put it in the lasagna... now i am craving cottage cheese..
- There are some foods that I will absolutely not eat if it's low fat. But cottage cheese isn't one of them. And yes, it's great in lasagna.
- Honestly I stick with the 2% cottage cheese singles from Market Basket. (if you have that near you) I typically drink 1% milk because of fat content plus I just like it better... regardless the 2% cottage cheese is the bomb. It costs less and is better for your health. For real I'm not a health nut I go by taste and this is the best.
